There are so many lovely things I could say about this day… the silk flower secretly planted in her bouquet by her adoring mother from her own bouquet years ago… a celebratory walk back down the aisle to his parent’s wedding song ‘When I’m Sixty-Four’ (with a dad who is sixty-four :))… the perfect amount of fog that wrapped...

This past week I wrapped up edits on a wedding that left my heart all kinds of joyful. The two people these photos celebrate are beautiful in so many ways. They are intentional and kind. Gracious hosts and wonderful listeners. They are SO much fun, and laughter is full in their presence. Some of those people who it really is a gift to call them friends – ya know...

Honestly, these two could have gotten married in a dingy old banquet hall and it would have still been the party of a lifetime. The amount of love in that one room was incredible. We cried actual tears and laughed a ton and somehow, despite the transition to 9,000’, managed to dance like crazies. The friends and family that surround this duo are something else...

I remember thinking to myself before this wedding that we may go into a period of mourning when it was over, that’s how much Pat&Elizabeth make you feel like a million bucks. We met them through another couple who we had the joy to photograph back in May, and it was love at first Skype ;)

Gosh, what a joyful day this was!

Andy has been a friend of ours for several years now. We had the wonderful pleasure of going through the season of life that is undergrad with him, and he’s consistently been a true and amazing friend – with one of the best laughs ever!

So… enter Kelsey.

The miracle of new life is absolutely breathtaking. Watching these two speak to and hold their son in love and awe was truly a gift, and they are going to be (already are!) the most wonderful parents.

Anyone who is able to simultaneously be a little sassy and full to the brim with admiration and respect is one incredible duo in my book. You can tell they just LOVE being together, and it’s infectious. And after years of that dating life, it was a serious celebration to see them take the step into marriage. I’ll gladly take a front row seat to that!

It’s not often we shoot two weddings in one weekend, but for these wonderful people we made an exception. And boy was it worth it. Not only was this some of the most beautiful weather we’ve had all year, we got to celebrate Richard&Rachel, who I’m pretty sure laugh as effortlessly together as any couple we’ve seen. Which let me tell ya... it...

A few weeks ago, Drew and I got the total joy of celebrating with Matt&Amy, who – after an entire lifetime of togetherness (seriously… high school sweethearts! *swoons*) committed forever to each other in front of one of the most wonderful groups of family and friends we have seen. And while they stood up there, looking each other right in the eyes...

N&A – I am SO happy your paths crossed and you decided to commit to forever together. You are truly and completely a perfect match, and I mean it fully when I say you will absolutely leave the world a better place by your togetherness. Even if the only thing some get to experience is the amount of laugher your bring to a room :) thank you so much for asking us...

Austin&Tulia – there are about a thousand things we could say about how incredible this day was, and how perfectly it spoke about exactly who you are. From incorporating medicinal herbs (and hops!) into your florals, to a custom-made wedding dress, to live funk and a killer dance party… it was just so… you guys. But what will live on most about...

There are probably a hundred things I could say in this blog post about these two, but I’m going to keep it simple. They’re just better together. They’ve been through a lot of life in their short time together, and it’s been a joy to watch them travel it hand in hand, working and learning to do it to the benefit of the other. Which I’m sure...
