larry&lauren | metro detroit, michigan wedding

Happy Saturday, my wonderful blog-following friends! I hope you’re gearing up for a lovely holiday weekend. Can you believe it’s Labor Day already? I seriously can’t. But I also can, because it means fall is next and I’m kind of obsessed with fall in Michigan. And I really want to dig out my favorite boots. And scarves. All the scarves.

But before we get there, we have several more very summery weddings to share with you all! So don’t go too pumpkin crazy on me yet.

Earlier this month we had the absolute honor of photographing our lovely new friends Larry&Lauren’s wedding, and boy… did we leave with a full heart! Drew actually grew up going to church with Lauren when they were very wee ones. (And I’ve seen photos… YEESH were they cute.) Through the means of facebook, Lauren happened to notice that Drew and his wife Alyssa were wedding photographers, so she emailed! It was a really kind email, and I could tell right away that they were going to be a really special pair to work with.

There are so many things I could say about how amazing these two are (and you’ll see how crazy they are about each other below… those looks speak it all!), but what shouted the loudest to us about who they are was the people that surrounded them on their wedding day. Goodness. The amount of admiration and affection was palpable. I’m not sure we’ve ever seen such a large group of joyful, kind, and intentional people. (And when I say large I mean it… there were over 300 guests! Now that’s a lot of goodness going on.) You just don’t have a group of people that amazing around you without being someone who has left an incredible impact on the world. Larry&Lauren… you two are really something. I hope you know that. :) Also, I don’t think I’ve ever been hugged, complimented, encouraged, and made laugh so many times in one wedding day from people I have never met before. I wanted to take you all home. :)

We love you guys. Grateful to have been your wedding photographers and honored to call you friends now! And extra glad we’re neighbors ;)

Cheers everybody!
