Hello, blog following friends and visitors! We’re happy you’re here :)

A couple weekends ago we had the joy of not only photographing another epic celebration full of love and laughter and joyful tears, but doing so in my (Alyssa’s) hometown of Grand Haven. For those of you who maybe have not had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful beach town, you should certainly put it on your bucket list. It encapsulates everything you could want in a beach town (including the most amazing and clean beaches you have maybe ever been to), but truly just lights up with energy from Memorial Day to Labor Day. There is something extra fantastic about wandering around downtown and along the beach on a sunny summer weekend that makes you feel like you’re in a movie or something. So much joy, so much people watching to be had. It’s glorious.

Anyhow, I say all this not so much as to allure you to my hometown (which yes I am trying to do), but more so to say – despite the energy of Grand Haven summer, I really think the epicenter of fun and celebration was happening with these two and their wedding day. Holy smokes, so much laughter. Rachel was smiling (and squealing with joy) from the moment she arrived at the church, and it didn’t subside even a little. Sean and his (awesome) groomsmen arrived and quickly jumped into a serious game of hoops, and did not stop having fun once. Which seems like an obvious thing to say about a wedding, but there was a certain joy that permeated the whole day that nothing could squash. These two were going to enjoy their day and celebrate fully and no one or nothing was going to stop it. It was just the best.

It should also be noted that the hardest I laughed all day was the last few moments before we hopped off the party bus downtown, as it was someones genius decision to blast The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald. I doubt I will ever laugh so hard on a party bus ever again.

Sean&Rachel – guys. Seriously. We love ya. From the moment you first emailed us until now, it has been such a joy doing this wedding thing alongside you both. It is apparent to absolutely everyone that you’re crazy about each other, and it’s going to make for a sweet marriage. Thanks again for bringing us along, trusting us 110%, and just being our friends.

Hope you enjoy this peek into your day!

Much love,
