These two are are such a fantastic pair. It’s easy for anyone to see how incredibly happy they are just to be next to each other. Which might be in part due to the fact that they met by Sam saving Hannah from the impending doom of a volleyball smashing her in the face, but I’m gonna attribute most of it to the simple fact that they are truly best friends...

Scott&Anna are just the kind of people you want to be friends with forever. They’re absurd amounts of fun and goofy, and they do just about everything they can to make you feel loved and valued. Their wedding day included personalized vows, gorgeous sunshine, all the laughter, and the most lovely people. Oh, and tacos. So basically, it was my love language. :)

A few weeks ago we had the joy of celebrating two more wonderful people as they committed their forever to each other in the purest of love and laughter… and extra props to them for keeping it real and full of joy amidst one of the sunniest and sweatiest days yet! Seriously, I think it reached 90 degrees with almost no breeze and you’d never guess it...

While it’s kind of hard to put fitting words to everything that just made this day lovely, I think you’ll be able to tell by their photos. We spent less time in ‘formal’ portraits than we normally do, but the most beautiful moments were in their place. And in my opinion - that’s was really matters. Pretty sure I laughed and ‘awwww...

...while it was a beyond beautiful day aesthetically (ALL the heart eyes for the Detroit Masonic Temple!) what made this day special was these two. Just being around them makes you feel like a million bucks. They are kind, thoughtful, fun, full of laughter, and as you will easily see - pretty dang good lookin’ ;) so grateful we got to be a part of documenting...

So, I decided to *finally* make a recap post. From the last 4 years. (No small task, you guys. It took me forever, ha!) I chose these photos on gut reaction. For a myriad of reasons. Not all of them are mind-blowing images or anything, but they are special to me, to us, and they speak true to the things that move us and what we would like to photograph more of.

Well, let the jury note that even in the bitter cold of January, it is still possible to have the best time ever at your wedding. :)

This delightfully chill and completely lovely wedding day simultaneously marked the end of our wedding season until the spring while also acting as our first wedding of 2016! Something about feeling like you’re closing...

There are so many lovely things I could say about this day… the silk flower secretly planted in her bouquet by her adoring mother from her own bouquet years ago… a celebratory walk back down the aisle to his parent’s wedding song ‘When I’m Sixty-Four’ (with a dad who is sixty-four :))… the perfect amount of fog that wrapped...

This past week I wrapped up edits on a wedding that left my heart all kinds of joyful. The two people these photos celebrate are beautiful in so many ways. They are intentional and kind. Gracious hosts and wonderful listeners. They are SO much fun, and laughter is full in their presence. Some of those people who it really is a gift to call them friends – ya know...

Honestly, these two could have gotten married in a dingy old banquet hall and it would have still been the party of a lifetime. The amount of love in that one room was incredible. We cried actual tears and laughed a ton and somehow, despite the transition to 9,000’, managed to dance like crazies. The friends and family that surround this duo are something else...

I remember thinking to myself before this wedding that we may go into a period of mourning when it was over, that’s how much Pat&Elizabeth make you feel like a million bucks. We met them through another couple who we had the joy to photograph back in May, and it was love at first Skype ;)

Gosh, what a joyful day this was!

Andy has been a friend of ours for several years now. We had the wonderful pleasure of going through the season of life that is undergrad with him, and he’s consistently been a true and amazing friend – with one of the best laughs ever!

So… enter Kelsey.
